just as expected-i am BEYOND tired of dining common food.

so i've tried to be inventive with the microwave and i've got to say... i've had some pretty successful moments.

(from top) strawberries with cherry yogurt and almonds, oatmeal with fresh fruit, and brown rice with corn and spinach.

now i'm off to the dining commons for dinner :(

do i have to?

sometimes i wish i wasn't in college.

that way i wouldn't have to do homework and reading.

and, then i wouldn't have to eat at the yucky dinning commons-

and i could go back to living in the kitchen.

p.s. i'm vegan this month. it's wonderful!

spring

last week was my (much needed) spring break. a perfect time for movies, cooking, and sewing... you know, all the good stuff.

super delicious soup made by a happy accident.

the ingredient list (i believe) was something along the lines of acorn squash, carrots, veggie broth, milk, potato, and curry paste.

first of the two batches of lemon bars made with the lemons from our tree.

boy do those babies vanish fast.

what could be better than eggplant, zucchini, asparagus, onions, mushrooms, and bell pepper baked in balsamic-y-goodness?

greek salad; yum.

worth waking up for...

best brunch--possibly ever.

basically, president's day weekend was the best food weekend ever.

good thing it was only a weekend... otherwise i don't think my pants would fit!

gettin' crafty

last weekend i decided to take a trip home, and it was rather wonderful. i miss a lot of things about being at home, one of those things being the opportunity to craft/bake-rather than do homework. i have no kitchen or sewing machine at school... talk about torture!!

my sister nicole-being the creative gal that she is-was making adorable felt pins when i got home... so i joined her. she made me the most amazing apple and apple tree a girl could ever ask for. i made a carrot-because, well, who doesn't like carrots?

i also made some chai spice cookies. these cookies are sweeet.. literally. they got all messy and crumbly on the trip from home back to school-but i think my roommates appreciate them no matter what they look like!

rain. rain. go away.

^i miss this-the sun and blue sky... where did they go?

it isn't that i don't like rain-i mean, i know we need it and it's good for the earth (and it makes apples grow!)-but together with the cold and the wind... it's awful. my umbrella is useless, the wind on my wet pants is chilling, and all this bus riding is making me feel awfully lazy.

but i know the spring will be beautiful and green, and that will make up for it-i hope.
